The next and fourth #ProgressiveEurope Inter-Parliamentary Conference will take place on 5-6 October 2017 in Helsinki. As Finland is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its independence, Timo Harakka, Member of the Parliament of Finland, is pleased to invite his colleagues to the Conference hosted by the Finnish Social Democratic Parliamentary Group in the newly refurbished building of the Eduskunta.

This fourth conference will bring together Socialist and Social Democrat MPs from the national parliaments of the European Union once more. The MPs will debate concrete ideas about how European Socialists and Democrats could create a stronger and fairer Europe by cooperating in the field of economic policy. They will discuss, among other things, economic and financial issues, including tax policy alternatives, options for a European financial policy, and ways to face risks on the financial markets. The Governor of the Bank of Finland and member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, Mr Erkki Liikanen, will give a keynote speech at the conference.

More details will follow soon. If you want to attend the conference, please contact the Finnish Social Democratic Parliamentary Group.
